Nutritional values: A great source of protein, lipids, fibre, and carotenoids.

Food: Any standard Plant fertilizer. 

Reproduction rate: Extremely fast.

Water parameters: Temperature 5°C to 30°C. Use Tap water that you leave to off-gas chlorine for 24-48 hours before use. 

Air pump: Not needed. An air hose (no stone) with one bubble per second is good for circulation.

Lighting: Bright sunlight for hours daily, will boost algae growth.

Tank size: 5+L larger Is better. More surface area than depth.

Substrate: No need.

Size: 2 to 10 μm in diameter.

Colouration: Bright green tones, depending on oxygen levels and food sources.

Tips: Great food for our Radix balthica, or Planorbella duryi snails, daphnia, moina, Shrimp, Ostracods, Paramecium and scuds.
