Quality: Tank bred under lab conditions.
Suitable for: Fry to large fish, crayfish, shrimp, crabs, axolotl, frogs… Great for removing detritus in tanks and ponds.
Nutritional values: Dero worms contain a lot of protein and meet fish nutrition guidelines for protein and essential amino acids making it a healthy and nutritious food option for the fish and other tank inhabitants.
Difficulty level: Very easy
Food: Omnivore; needs a protein source. Spirulina tablets, blanched vegetables, bread, oatmeal, autumn leaves…
Reproduction rate: Very prolific (mostly asexual by splitting).
Water parameters: Temperature above 0°C to 25°C, pH 6,5-8,0. Frequent water changes (50-80% weekly).
Air pump: The culture water should be aerated continuously using an air stone.
Lighting: Not needed.
Tank size: 1+L larger Is better.
Substrate: No need but sharp gravel may encourage splitting.
Size: 1-5mm thinner than human hair.
Colouration: Dark red.
Age expectancy: Technically unlimited.
TIP: The worms clump up into balls, so you can feed larger animals with clumps of these worms. They are free swimming and trigger predatory instinct in fry exceptionally well.
